James J. Person, CFP®, ChFC, CLU, 

A founding partner of Synergy Financial Partners, Jim oversees the development of individually tailored personal and business financial strategies. Once created, these are augmented by regular oversight and ongoing adjustments of the plan. Jim attended Colgate University and the University of Colorado before beginning his career in financial planning. He holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification, the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC), and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations, and is securities registered as a LPL Registered Principal. He has served as president of GAMA International, the premier organization of more than 6,000 individuals who manage financial planning firms around the world. In 1998, he co-founded Employee Benefit Solutions, Inc., a full-service employee benefits brokerage firm. With more than 37 years of both management and private client practice experience, Jim is a frequent speaker on individual financial, investment, and estate planning topics, having spoken in over 40 states and four foreign countries to audiences of over 3,000.

Philip L. Jacobson, CFP®, ChFC

Phil graduated from the University of Denver with degrees in both finance and economics. After graduation, he began his career in financial planning as an associate with New England Financial in Denver. In 2007, he co-founded Synergy Financial Partners, an independent financial planning firm. Phil specializes in personalized investment and insurance analysis, design, and implementation for successful individuals and business owners, with a particular expertise in retirement planning for individuals in the Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association (PERA). Phil holds the CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ certification and is securities registered as a LPL Registered Principal. He is an active member of the Financial Planning Association (FPA).

Richard Levine, CFP®, ChFC, CLU, MBA

Rich graduated from Emory University before attaining his MBA from the Crummer Graduate School of Business at Rollins College. After moving to Denver, Rich began his career as a financial advisor with New England Financial. Rich became a partner with Synergy Financial Partners in 2008. He works with individuals, families, and business owners in the areas of risk management, wealth creation, and wealth preservation. Rich also specializes in helping Colorado Public Employees’ Retirement Association members maximize their retirement benefits. He holds the Chartered Financial Consultant (ChFC) and the Chartered Life Underwriter (CLU) designations.
